BW screen variant (new one?)

Post by BleuLlama » Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:23 am

Hey all. I recently picked up a BW 3.5" Lcd panel for my Lynx-Pi, after seeing so much success with that model, and having such good documentation in here for modifying it for 5V use. Of course, what I got looked identical to others from the outside but had a completely different controller board inside.

I couldn't find anything useful for datasheets on the two six-pin chips in it, and I couldn't find anything other than 3v around the board, but i took a guess and injected 5V on the positive side of the 10v cap (my reasoning being that if there's 12v in the power circuits, it's got to have been stepped down by that point). And it works great!

Pics attached hopefully

I just got the same board and saw this post and this post http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=3892

With your way you didn't have to remove the IC chip? And what happen to the 4th wire?

I was successfully able to do this by running a piece of red wire to the open contact hole above the existing red wire and then to the capacitor. Works great. Here's a picture for anyone that wants to see where the wires go
