No difference.
Did you test it with 12v before you modded it?
Yup, runs off 12v no problem.

Please make a quick sketch which wires is connected where.
They need a common ground or else it will not turn on. Maybe this is the problem.

I fixed it. I was reading a little bit and found that unless there is a video signal being inputed into the display, it will never turn on. I had my White and Yellow cables reversed which is weird because in another display having white in the square and yellow in the circle the display worked... I confirmed the proper setup and have it posted in a picture below. Thank for everyone's help, including you Fleder

Anyone know how to use a usb sound card without an amp? I have my usb sounds card connected to the gameboy volume wheel now and the wheel connected to the headphone jack like other people I have seen but I am getting so much static from the speaker I so not like it. I think my amp is just not a good one so I am wondering how to connect it without one.

Is there static from the headphones? Is the headphone jack before or after the amp?

There is no static from headphone jack. Here is my diagram:

If you play with the amplifier cables while audio is playing is there any effect?

Good question and Yes. When I press my finger on the audio jack (white cable for me or the white cable going into the gameboy volume wheel) it has a huge effect on the static and gets way louder. When I take my finger off it goes back to low static sound.
