Sorry for the dumb question.
What are the advantage of using this solution rather the GPIO pins from RPi3? Isn't cheaper and faster? Also supports multiple press.
(unless we need the GPIO pins for other stuffs).

Same deal, lots of wires, it takes more space. Plus the RPi3 has a quite bad power consumption for a portable console..
And we are lazy, this is nearly plug and play once you've done the hardware part. Your solution require some kind of virtual joystick and such, if you need for any reason to format your SD card, you need to do everything again. Here it is handled as a controller, it works instantly

It would be kinda nice to have usb audio on the board too, wouldn't be ? Though not sure this is really required since we can do it from the raspberry pi itself

I'm including the audio buffer for the PWM audio and not much room for anything else but if there is I will add an audio amp to drive the speaker but not guaranteeing it though.

Lol I have another surprise that is included in the board that will make it a super easy install but I'll wait to reveal everything once it's all done and in my hands.

I have 5 of the atmega32u4 chips on hand so I can only sell those to a few testers at a discount before I can fully offer these to everyone, and before I get bombarded with PM for testers I have some in mind already so sorry (Fleder you can be one of the testers if you'd like).

Thank you kindly, but unfortunately that would be wasted on me, since i already have all the parts at hand and also i am going the USB DAC route. So thank you, much appreciated, but i think it will be better to send it to someone who actually can use and test it thoroughly.
And by the amount of users interested, i don't think you will have a lack of persons to send it to

Ah, so you take the 32u4s apart and use those parts in your prototypes? That sounds like a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too.

I don't remove the components from the boards that you can get (although it's cheaper this way sometimes), I ordered the parts brand new and just the atmega not anything else. If this all works out well enough I will order more but expect to sell out fast once I do, I also plan to have the regular board with some extras for people who don't want the integrated atmega so there will be options.

Oh, i mixed up the chip with the whole module, sorry.
You should really think about opening your own small online store. Can't wait to see your creations in action.

I would buy one obviously, since I'm making the code that would be nice to be able to test this, PM me as soon you have what's needed, want to be #1 tester :p

By the way, have you programmed them with Arduino bootloader or do you make a header to do this ?
