Rodocop's 8th GBZ

Post by rodocop » Tue Dec 26, 2017 9:10 pm

hey all, just finished my 8th GBZ...

This one is using a simple PBC from TinkerBOY, for a simple PCB it is pretty awesome, it has traces for 5v/gnd, and audio in/out so you do not need a power strip and you can run your audio wires through the board

All controls are done through the GPIO, and I have used pwm mono audio, using a low pass filter and a small 20mm speaker. I skipped the volume wheel, and just have in game volume hotkey for volume. For PWM audio, the sound is pretty decent.

I also used the banggood power boost located in the cartridge, and a 4000Mah batter that fits perfectly in the battery compartment.

The nice stickers are compliments of YaYa, and they look awesome!

The L and R are 12mm tactile buttons I made the mounts out of some perf board, it's working good! Screen cover from HHL, and buttons from aliexpress.

I'm very happy with how this turned out, I was a little skeptical about the clear case and how it would look, but I think it turned out awesome!

Nice build! Some interesting ideas here.
Do you have any pictures of the banggood power boost inside the cartridge?

It's all I had on hand! It's too bad it doesn't fit the whole space.

And here is the cartridge. Just had to trim one corner of the powerboost. And cut a small notch for the micro usb. This is from another build. But it's the same set up. Little bit of glue to hold it in place and the wires run out the bottom.

It fits good in these green shells cause they have a raised section up top. While normal cartridges actually indent inwards a bit.
