USB sound working, but white noise?

Removing the ground bridge from the amp reduced the problem, and removing the amp eliminated it. The problem now is speaker volume, which is really low, although the headphone jack is fine. Has anyone found a good guide for making sure that volume issues aren’t software related? I suppose I could also just amp the speaker and not the headphone jack.

Un-amped headphone is pretty much enough.
