3D-Printed screw bracket

One of the messiest (and annoying) parts of the GBZ project is the screw bracket from the third guide:



I've got a few things to tweak, but I'm working on a 3D-printed one that you can just glue in and be done with; no epoxy, no agonizing over lining it up.

If people are interested I'll print some out and put them in the buy/sell/trade forum.

Some very rough drafts below. Final version will have a couple arms sticking out at the top so you don't even have to measure that!

How about a latch for the top side of the outside or inside of the case? My screen board and some others doesn't allow us to have a bracket like this because the board is so big so we need to figure a way to keep the top part of the case secure without it. Was gonna get a small door hinge or something to unlatch if i want to take the case apart but some 3D printed black plastic made specifically for the job would be perrrfect.

Yep! They are pretty strong printed in ABS. You do have to be a little careful to not over-tighten the screws though, as they do strip a little easier than the original screw posts.

Sure, I can do that. I'll share the finalized one when I'm done with it, I was just wondering if anyone was even interested.

As I don't like much gluing everything I would think about some supports to fix the screen and stuff without gluing other than the support itself. You see what I mean ?
I would just use some pieces of double-sided foam tape to fix things and glue only the supports.

I'd like to be able to unmount things, to reuse or replace them.

I hear ya. I'll take a look later on. The problem is in order to make room for the bigger screen, we wind up removing any kind of structure we would normally be able to use for something like that. The only thing that comes to mind would be having some sort of tiny clips coming out of the front side of the case, which I don't think is ideal obviously. :\ I'll put some thought into it.

If you add few mounting brackets to your support, we would be able to glue the support without gluing the screen I guess.
And the screen would stuck under the support.
This solution would maybe need an other support for the bottom of the screen to fix it.

The problem is, not every one has the same screen. So it seems hard to have a kind of universal support.
Maybe just some grindable parts to make precise fitting.
