raspberry pi 3 white screen
Hey guys,
Just to give you some background info i have a 3.5 inch tft adafruit screen (wermy's first GBZ build) and i cant for the life of me get the screen to work outside of a blank white screen. i have installed the drivers for the screen and ive double checked my wiring over and over. I've even tried to use kites config file for the screen since he uses the same screens with his board. The ribbon cable is not damaged and neither is the board. bellow i will post pictures of all the wiring please someone help i'm starting to lose my mind with this.

Re: raspberry pi 3 white screen
a bit of patience...
and maybe searching the forums a bit might help (a lot info is already out there, and most issues have been covered)....
(just one example)
https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 825#p49644
for a start some of your soldering needs attention
(even if it is/you are in the test process, there's no need to have rough solder connections... that's just asking for trouble)
and more importantly, it looks like you've wired your screen incorrectly....
from what i can see...
PP24 is where your white wire should be (need to have good solder connections)....
PP25 is the Audio Left (this should not be used for the screen)
PP26 is the Audio Right (this should not be used for the screen)
the yellow wire i'm assuming needs to be connected to a ground (like it is on the Pi Zero, in Wermy guide)
i hope this helps....

Re: raspberry pi 3 white screen
Reinstall retropie
And use original config file
Kite config is for DPI screen
You should use 1 wire not both yellow and white
Try yellow or white on PP24
Also check your ribbon cable

i'm not sure what class 3 soldering is.....Bopthompson wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 8:47 pmTried swapping white wire to pp24 and yellow to pp3 and no luck still. I do class 3 soldering on the dayly I just was making the electrical connection to make sure it worked.

but after looking at this, it may be an idea to upgrade to class 1...
(even if just soldering to make electrical connection, make sure the connection is properly done...
look at the yellow wire, and that's your composite connection point on the Pi3 PP24)...
also as ABH has pointed out....
the ribbon cable isnt seated properly....

the black line is an indicator if the ribbon cable is connected properly, and that sure doesn't look like it is
