Just try out the middle and one of the end pins, those are the same switches used on my 3D printer for end stops, and they have the middle pin and the pin near the hinge wired up only. Try that out. (should be easy enough to figure out with trial and error!)

Finally done!! (needed to speed up as just bought a switch i want to play  )I had to change a lot of the internal wire connecting the front to the back to be able to close, I used slightly thicker wire to begin with hoping for better quality but for a lot of things like L/R buttons its not needed so replaced with smaller.
There is a slight gap at the top which I hate as I love my consoles closing perfect but whatever I did I couldnt close it any better so its going to have to do!!
Managed to use the original headphone jack and switch which both work well, used fibre optics to have power/ low battery and charging lights in the cartridge bay. Now just setting up overscan so as I am using the original screen surround so the screen needs shrinking a little.

And here is my little secret weapon I use on all my builds for closing the case tighter, I wouldnt have been able to close it as much as I have without these!

I have tried screw brackets and what wermy did in his first build but they always strip off the thread, but I use these instead, take the metal piece out of the plastic, hot glue to case and there is a cheap/solid wy to attach front to back.
Once added software and changed overscan will add a few more pics.

What is the name of those plastic screw holders you used to further close the shell? Do you have a link to the product? This is an excellent build!

hi, sorry for late reply. You can get the connectors from all electrical stores, i have attached an ebay link:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-WAY-CONNE ... YgDK4yIQ6w
They are all different sizes. Probably easier buying from a shop then online so you can just what size you need.
