Seems like I've lost that money :/
no money lost.
You van saw of the part with the buttons. Then reconect both parts with only two wires.
The screen even runs on 5v standard. So no adjustments necessary.
Pretty good kwality pocturesvand PCB will fit of you saw of the other side

It says it's 640x480, but the price makes me doubt.
Seems like this is from a reasonably trustworthy seller. Their shop is open since February but they already have 1600 good orders.
You can gamble and if it's not to spec you'll most likely get your money back (and keep the display anyway, usually).

Edit:

Contacted the seller and they assured me it's really VGA resolution:

Have you ordered? If so can you keep us updated on the outcome of the resolution.

Going by the pic as it looks like all the others and the low price I doubt it can be the higher res, however as they guarantee to offer partial/full refunds if the item is not as described I think it's worth the gamble!

I'm tempted to get one myself, it's just the other gamble of what board is inside..... :?:

Are all the alternatives that work in the wiki already now? There are not very many alternatives listed in the wiki compared to 25 pages here o_O

Just found out that displays in VR headsets have the same aspect ratio (10:9) like the original Game Boy (and GBC).

So after a quick search I found this supplier:

3.81" inch AMOLED 1080x1200px display 8-)
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 9OH4s0&s=p

Not cheap, but it has amazing PPI (447) and AMOLED blacks. Should fit more or less perfectly into a DMG case as well.

First problem I can see is that this is a vertical display, not a horizontal one - not sure if thats a problem for RPi to turn the picture 90 degrees.

Maybe someone with more technical skills can look into the possibility of this working out?

One more thing, there is a vid on YT with a different display from the same manufacturer ( http://www.topfoison.com/product/Head-M ... splay.html ) already connected to RPi, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHumujvR4E8

This means nothing. I've had 3 sellers telling me their cheap displays would really be 640x480 and they were 320x240.
So i had to ask them for a refund.

But hey, maybe this one is not lying :)

I already asked for the gearbest one and still waiting for it. Anyway, as I will make the gb0 with a friend (I'll show it in the show corner), I'll try to contact him.

Well yeah, but them telling you a lie hopefully gives you better leverage for a full refund!

I imported two of these screens from Alibaba
http://sudomod.com/wiki/index.php?title ... te_Display

I know users have reported running this off 5V, but I can't get it to run on 5V. I've tried a USB cable directly and a raspberry pi zero through the gpio pins. I did get it working on 9V and 12V.

Any ideas, or ways I can get this to run on 5V?
