Add LEDs to Kites CS lite
Add LEDs to Kites CS lite
In previous builds of the kite CM3 and CS lite, I understood resisters were needed to add power, charge and activity LEDs. However, on the recent CS lite board, there appears to be solder points on the board for this. I am I correct in thinking I can just solder LEDs directly to the board now? there are no forums or instructions anywhere to do this anywhere

Resistors still required, check out the specifics on the FAQ: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... tatus-leds

Re: Add LEDs to Kites CS lite
I am also wondering how to add LEDs to the Lite board. I have seen the FAQ but i am sort of a noob when it comes to this sort of thing and can not really tell what is going on in the diagram. Do i just need to put 2k resistor between the the solder points and the LEDs?

Yep, see that on the wiki diagram that the names of the wires on the right match to the names of the labels on the picture. Yes you need to wire each LED independently with a resistor (so there will be a total of 4 wires coming from the board, you cannot share the - or + of any of the LEDs)FlashyFrank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:30 pmI am also wondering how to add LEDs to the Lite board. Ok, so from the negative solder point I will add a wire and then attach the LED to that wire, then the resistor and then from the resistor to the positive solder point on the board?

I got the lights all setup and they appear to be working. I have noticed that the 'charge' light only turns on when the unit is powered on. Is that the way it is? I would love the charge light to be on even when the unit is powered off but it is not a big deal.

Ah i see, i hadn't actually tested that out but i see what needs to be done! Move the "+" wire from the charge LED onto the RED CIRCLED side of the capacitor here with the label "THIS":
It has to be this cap, and it has to be the side circled in RED
It has to be this cap, and it has to be the side circled in RED
