Sorry this took a few days, I got caught up in the hustle and bustle of kids starting school. The upper left, you can reach the switches with a little screw driver. You can widen the holes if you need/want to but I've only ever manipulated the switches once during some initial setup and testing.xxrob511 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:08 amIf that is possible that would be awesome! Well I am glad to hear you have access to them when put togetherMrErickson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 7:46 amI can can get to the switches via the battery compartment on the CS-Lite I just completed, you can enlarge the hole if you like but it isnt a requirement. You will need something small to manipulate the switches with. I can grab a picture tonight if you'd like a visual.

kite wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 4:56 amIt is compatible with all Circuit Sword versions (except the Circuit Sword Lite), when the LCDs ship there will be a required update that will need to be done on the Circuit Sword software in order to get it to work. This will be documented closer to the time with steps to easily complete.

BTW, I'm also very interested in hearing any cons of getting the 640x480 display. My build isn't finished yet, and the 320x240 screen was widely recommended for the previous round. Considering implementing the upgrade, but would like a little info regarding how they compare.

Hey Kite, is it possible to get the 640x480 display before November if I order just that (and the alternative backboard)? Or will you ship everything in November regardless of what the orders contained?

are the shipping times for the new 640x480 LCD the same as the Circuit Sword itself or is there any way to order them faster, on their own?![]()

The 640x480 LCD has 4x as many pixels compared to the included 320x240 LCD, which does make text and edges quite a lot clearer. It is also a slightly newer LCD technology and you can't see the vertical and horizontal black lines separating the pixels. The colour appears slightly more accurate and pleasant to look at (blacks appear blacker), brightness is the same as the included 320x240 LCD once the 'BL BOOST' solder jumper is bridged, and I can't personally tell about the response time as it doesn't appear any different or abnormal. There is no diagonal tearing either and it is fed by the same 60FPS DPI signal that the standard LCD uses.
It's an optional extra for those that want something a bit higher in quality, both are fine choices. I hope that has helped

Seems like a no-brainer. Can you provide a type number for Aliexpress or something, or is that a corporate secret?

I think I remember you previously linked to the 320x240 screen elsewhere?

It's a custom made to order LCD, it's not possible to buy it from anywhere else
Very easy, expand step 1 here: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... 40x480-lcd
