Why can't you just use thin cell phone batteries?

This seems to be a precursor to this: http://stevesprojectpages.com/battery-board-v0/

I'm pretty sure I found a 3200+ MaH battery that would fit when I was digging. You can definitely get into the sub 4K range with that space.

I just ordered a 2600mah 52x52x7,8 on Ali. Not the one from the link above because shipping was 50 Euro.
Hope 7,8 thick is possible?

Popcorn...link? Maybe I can still cancel this one...

I lost the link now after digging eBay and googling for hours and hours on different battery sizes. If I find it, I'll send your way. As I mentioned, I went for that crazy massive 1ah battery that I know won't fit.

But one of the best options I remember was the one that @Fleder found. That guy can build custom batteries to fit your size and he stated he could stack two of these in a parallel two-cell setup to give you 3900mAh. Which are sadly presently out of stock. Worth it to contact him and see though.

Do you think cell balancing would be an issue with multiple batteries? I'm actually thinking of doing this in my build if I have the space (and time)...

From everything ive read on the topic, multicell batteries should only ever be done directly from the factory where they are properly paired off the same production run otherwise if you have any difference in the cells, you'll run into all sorts of charging and draining issues really quickly. This is why I was a bit weary of going to that guy above who claimed he could make a custom multicell.

After some quick googling, I found this one, and this is a proper 3 cell multicell, from the factory.

Unfortunately though, I think it might be a wee bit too high. From when I measured it, there was only a max of 15mm of height. Shame. But just another example that bigger batteries that fit within the 65mm x 55mm x 15mm might still exist out there!

Maybe it's possible to find the 2 cell version of this which would be 4000mAh and would be able to fit properly.
