Replace PSP for Joycon joysticks
Replace PSP for Joycon joysticks
I would like to replace my PSP Joysticks for those joycons of the Nintendo Switch, but they are not recognized. PSP is working good but I would like to have real Analogsticks.
I bought 0.5mm 6pin FPC adapter that Kite recommended to me:

Any help would be really appreciated

Re: Replace PSP for Joycon joysticks
Is the FPC inserted against the EDGE of one of the sides of the connector? You need to be careful because the FPC is 5pin and your adapter is 6pin! So it needs to be moved 1pin to the side. From the pic it looks kinda in the middle

Re: Replace PSP for Joycon joysticks
Did you resolve the issue? I'm in the process of making a breakout board for the PSVita joystick but if you are interested I can add the joycon joystick to a list of items I'll make for the community.
Main purpose of my design is to be as small as possible (about 10mmx15mm) so you would just need some double sided tape to stick it down to your case.

Just in case you were still willing to try, flip the ribbon upside down, it's in the wrong way. I made the same mistake and now it works great!
Re: Replace PSP for Joycon joysticks
Hi dont know if you have this figured out yet or not. But you have your joystic wired in pins 12456. You have a 5 pin ribbon cable pushed all the way to one side pin 1 on your board. It is impossible for you to use pin 6 in this configuration. If you double check your pinout and pretend pin 6 doesn't exist you should be fine. So wire to pin 12345 only. Hope this helps you. I just made a circut sword using joycon sticks and the exact same boards. So I know they will work for you. Good luck
