If you just need the case, you could always buy in ebay/aliexpress a non original one.
If that gameboy, it´s working, and you fix the screen, you could sell it and recover some money, which could be used for purchasing another extra parts.

I personally wouldnt´s sacrify that GB, it looks really good.

I want to build (close to) the same as Wermy's.
I paid 7.50 for the gameboy, buying a shell only costs 9.50 atleast. With a working cartridge port it increases in the price.

I do own a DMG which i got from my dad waaay back in the day which is non yellow and perfectly working. So its not for my own to keep since i have a perfect one laying arround in my collection

For that price: hack it up spook!

I also had trouble with finding a broken gb in good shape... Ended up buying a ugly broken one with also damaged case, and bought an after market new shell.....

One of those screen prints from dominator?

At this point im looking in buying the neccesary parts from the interwebs.
Like the pcb board, buttons and conductive pads from dominator.

Im just wondering how to get the 3.7V power module (the one on the wiki) working. The original one has a port fot the battery while the other one hasnt got a port like that.

The alternative to the powerboost just needs some wires with connector solderd on to it, so you can plug the battery in on that :)

i ordered the alternative (not the adafruit one) poowerboost, as soon as i can begin with my build (none of the parts i ordered online has arrived, other than the lipo) ill document it in my thread :)

Hi, yes a screen protector would be nice, maybe I will add it as well.
Mine is also running on the alternative booster/charger circuit, it works well and is alot cheaper
then the original one. If you remove the sides you can fit it infront of the charger port so the micro
usb connector fits nicely in front of the port.
