Minty Pi will not power with battery
Minty Pi will not power with battery
My minty Pi powers on with usb, but will not power on with the battery.
I've checked to ensure all solder joints are continuous as well as for any shorts.
I ensured voltage was going to D1.
I checked the battery voltage to ensure it was over 3.7 V.
I even checked to continuity for the tactile power switch when pressed.
Any ideas on what else I should check for?

Re: Minty Pi will not power with battery
Look in the connector between the power board and mainboard to see if any of the pins are bent. I have fixed a couple of those.

Re: Minty Pi will not power with battery
I saw other users had this issue, however none of the pins seem to be bent, I made sure to connect the cable in the correct orientation each time and check the pins every time I disconnected it.
I also went ahead and tested the cable for continuity too, and everything checked out.
I went through the forums a few times in search for a solution, but there has to be something I'm missing.
You're reply was greatly appreciated by the way.

Here are the solder joints, all were continuous, but I'm not sure there are any other possible issues they can cause.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I'd love to finish this project

Can you check these voltages while the battery is plugged in? I am most interested in the chip in the upper left of that picture.

Re: Minty Pi will not power with battery
Thanks for the reply! Everything is continuous, and all positive leads show around 4V. However I did find that on the button pcb, 5V was not continuous with FB3. Wermy posted it here https://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php/ ... n_Problems but I think its only for audio issues. Not sure if that could have something to do with my issue or not.

Re: Minty Pi will not power with battery
The battery powers the pi and that 5v circuit so if it has no continuity then it will not power on. But the new pcb has a 5v test pad just check continuity from the colored GPIO to the 5V colored test pad.

Helder, thanks for the reply!
Both 5v GPIO for the pi are continuous with eachother as well as the 5v test pad and D1. There are also no shorts between the 5v and anyother GPIOs. Are there any other steps I can take?

Re: Minty Pi will not power with battery
Ok then that is odd, but you have looked in the red cable connector on both the powerboard and the controller board? No bent pins? you might have a bad powerboard that is not allowing the power to be passed on through the dualfet. Send me an email or PM with your order # and I'll send you another one.
