I don't think anyone actually commented on this, so I'll ask again.

Since there's been mention of using just the bare board with a custom adapter PCB, would it be possible to go even bigger than 2.4"? If we don't need to use the screen's board at all, that should free up a bunch of space. Unless I'm totally misinterpreting the design here (which is entirely possible :) )
The next widely-available step up from 2.4" is 2.8". I have some bare 2.8" screens on hand and there really just isn't room for it. You lose more vertical space than you might think just from the way the hinge opens. 2.4" should be nice though, I think. Heck, the Game Boy Micro only had a 2" screen! :)

I hear ya! I think you'll be surprised though. For the form factor, 2.4" is pretty nice. :)

This might be obsolete info but I just got my 2.2 inch board and found this handy wiki with details about the screen and pinouts:

http://www.elecfreaks.com/wiki/index.ph ... TFT01-2.2S

Figured I'd share in case it helps someone else who got a board before they disappeared.

If you need help hooking it up, there is a guide in my signature
Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

Hold on to your hats, I found a viable solution!

Just kidding.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-2-SPI-TFT-LCD ... SwWfFXkZMO
Item description lists it as the ILI9225 screen at a lower resolution. I'd steer clear. If you're ok with waiting a little longer to get your parts, I think the 2.4" version will be worth the wait. :)

Edit: Hah, totally missed your "just kidding." 😜
*slightly off-topic*

I have already ordered a 2.2" ILI9341, should i get a 2.4" and use the 2.2" for another project?

Also, will the stl files for 2.2" screen be available?

That's actually literally what the topic is. :D

Helder has some samples of a bare 2.4" screen coming. Assuming those work out then I think a 2.4" screen will definitely be preferable.

Yes, I will have the STL files (as well as prints) of the 2.2" version available as well. :)

You'll also want to take the touch screen off or get one without it, also it's good to know the pinout (although these are almost all universal if they are 18pin)

Don't contact me about obtaining my board files (as you will not get them). If my Boards or PCB Kits are sold out, they will be restocked as soon as I can get them and there is demand for them. You can join the mailing list on my Website to be notified when they are available.
