A diode of any kind really can be used but if possible get fast recovery diodes like this :

Don't contact me about obtaining my board files (as you will not get them). If my Boards or PCB Kits are sold out, they will be restocked as soon as I can get them and there is demand for them. You can join the mailing list on my Website to be notified when they are available.

Hi, thanks for giving an example! This is one that's available from a local retailer (for me) - would this work? http://leeselectronic.com/en/product/71388.html

Yes that works and be sure the White Stripe is facing the controller PCB pads, so all Stripes of the 2 diodes solder to the Power Input pad on the controller PCB.

MintyPi Build Question

Post by AWildTyphlosion » Mon Jul 10, 2017 6:20 am

So I managed to get a MintyPi preorder in and mine is arriving tomorrow, I was wondering when the setup guide would come out? I'm not very good at electronics so I'll probably need it.

solder a diode from the IN+ on the lipo charger to the Power input on the controller pcb and do the same with the wire coming from the battery to the Power Input. This prevents the battery from getting 5V and the battery draining itself by powering the lipo charger.
Mind posting a few pics of this? I think a lot of people would like to know how to do this

mintyPi Frequently Asked Questions **READ THIS**

Post by Helder » Mon Jul 10, 2017 4:17 pm

Post any and all questions here in this thread instead of making new threads asking things that have been answered already but no one is bothering to search or read.

I will put all the posts/threads that I think fit this criteria in here.
