The ribbon looks fine to me and as I mentioned in another thread the last 4 pins are not used at all so if those are bent or broken they don't matter so long as the others are fine.

It was bulging when I received it, the connector is bent on the left side. I tried one and it wouldn't lock, then 2-4 just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. With 4 layers of tape it free slides with the lock completely pressesed in. But on the left side the lock mechanism will not lock in place.

Send me the screen and lcd board back and I'll replace it.

I have actually got it to lock at this point however the screen is stsying white, any further suggestions or do you think it's dead

If it's missing the first pin (like you said it is) and or the connector is damaged it is likely not going to work. Send it back and I will have to charge you for another screen and once I receive your LCD I'll mail you a new one and replace the screen socket if it's damaged.

Hey everyone!
When I plug my screen into my board all that shows up is a bright white screen. I plugged it into my HDMI and hooked it up to the Tv and everything works smoothly. Every time I plug it into the HDMI it works but the screen refuses to show anything but white. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. This is my first time doing anything of this kind and I'm sorry to everyone and the mods if this is answered somewhere else. Thank you very much!

solved my white screen. Just double, triple, and quadruple check continuity on your test pads.

So I'm getting partial white screen?
I can see retropie in the background but the screen is still mostly white

First time I have seen that, be sure the screen is lined up properly with the socket pins. Try moving the screen ribbon a bit and see if it works on a reboot.

Did you setup the mintyPi scripts so the screen shows an image? I bet you didn't and why did you make a new thread with White Screen when there is already a thread open with the same name?

Read the written guide about half way down the page on how to setup your SD card otherwise it won't show an image on the LCD.

I've spent a good 2 hours aligning the ribbon cable, adding more tape, less tape, this is the closest that I get to it working.its either all white, half white or not on at all. I'll try again more tomorrow
